Each month we choose a top health or wellbeing audiobook to listen to while you walk, stretch, do physio exercises, garden, or take a minute to lie on the floor and actually breathe. All movement counts.

NOVEMBER

There is nothing more essential to our health and wellbeing than breathing: take air in, let it out, repeat 25,000 times a day. Yet, as a species, humans have lost the ability to breathe correctly, with grave consequences. In Breath, journalist James Nestor travels the world to discover the hidden science behind ancient breathing practices to figure out what went wrong and how to fix it.

Modern research is showing us that making even slight adjustments to the way we inhale and exhale can improve our exercise techniques, restore healthy sleep patterns and minimise snoring, halt allergies, asthma and even autoimmune disease.

My mum lives abroad and it's nice to have something that we can do together apart. We listen to a couple of chapters a week and keep each other accountable.

It's really hard to commit to anything when you have a chronic illness because you never know how you're going to feel. This feels like something I can actually do and be part of without feeling like I'm letting anyone down

It feels like such a good use of time to combine reading, moving and learning. There are books I've been meaning to read for years, this is such a good format to get through them!

I work from home and the days all blur together. I'm going use this to get out for a 'walk to work' in the mornings

I've always wanted to be part of a book club but I never have time finish the book, I'm excited about this because I can definitely find a 15 minutes a day to dip in and out of the chapters that are interesting and I need to move more

A Bit About Us

Active Book Club is a subscription based community, run by certified personal trainer, Bee Watson,  who specialises in women’s health, menopause and ADHD coaching. This space is designed to help people move more, feel good and explore wellbeing in ways that build sustainable habits for real life.
